Jetty Beach

This 15-acre park in Surfside Texas is perfect for any picnic afternoon. It features amenities like beach access, harbor channel & jetty, a playground, trails, picnic areas, and restrooms for guests to enjoy. There is something for everyone to enjoy with activities like hiking, birdwatching, fishing, beachcombing, swimming, and enjoying the gorgeous ocean. For those with an interest in History the park has a small historical site. It is the Velasco Town Battery that is dated back to before the 1860's. It consists of two brass cannons placed in an embankment. It was used by the Civil War confederates in 1861 and was part of defenses of Fort Velasco which actually borders Jetty Park.

The park is open from 8 am to dusk and does not feature any overnight camping. There is paved parking for those traveling via car or bike. The playground features several slides for kids and is right next to the beach. The beach access requires guest to navigate some rocks, but is worth the trip. Of all of Surfside Beach's coast it is typically the most quiet portion of beach. With it's picnic amenities it makes it the perfect place to have a beach party or spend some quality time together with friends.

For those that didn't bring a picnic basket there are some nearby restaurants for guests to grab a bite to eat. These include Jetty Shack, Pier 30 and more. Guests can also use the boat access to enjoy both fishing and guided fishing out on the water.
